Italy Golf Map

Despite being a very well-known tourist destination, many people still wonder (and search on Google) whether Italy has golf courses.

For this reason, we thought about creating a Complete map of golf courses in Italy to include and show every single golf course with more than 9 holes.

Are you ready to find your next favourite golf course?

Are there golf courses in Italy?

To date, there are hundreds of golf courses in Italy, the majority of which are located in the northern part of the country.

This is mainly due to historical and morphological reasons, as many areas are mountainous or hilly and as Italy was divided into different kingdoms until 1861 and their cultures and traditions were divergent.

That being said, we have golf courses in practically every region and part of the country, with diverse climates and landscapes to enjoy.

The numerical answer to the question “Are there golf courses in Italy?” is that we have 235 official golf courses – recognised by the Italian Golf Federation – with 9 holes or more, of which 140 have at least 18 holes.

If we were to also count the smaller fields and practice facilities, the number would increase considerably.

Where to Play Golf in Italy

One of the main reasons we only counted golf courses with more than 9 holes is the purpose of this list.

The smaller courses and practice facilities can be of a very high standard, but we have so many golf courses to recommend for a golf trip to Italy that we had to summarise.

Another thing to know is that every Italian region has its unique traditions, its landscape, but above all its food and drink. All these elements, together with excellent golf courses, make Italy a wonderful destination for a golf trip that will satisfy all your senses and leave an indelible mark on your memory.

You can consult our Interactive map here.

Depending on your travel needs and expectations, you might prefer to visit the northern, central or southern part of the country. With a very different climate and terrain across the peninsula, you'll have plenty of choice.
