Trentino-Alto Adige is a splendid region in the North of Italy with a territory that is entirely mountainous and dotted with natural spectacles, such as the Dolomites, the Adamello range, the Ortles-Cevedale range, Lake Garda, and the stunning Lake Braies.
The region is home to some of Italy's most fascinating landscapes and unspoiled nature, thanks also to its low population density and regional regulations.
Let's look at the characteristics of this region together and some of its most stunning golf courses:
Trentino-Alto Adige: Curiosities and History
Trentino-Alto Adige is an Italian region characterised by a strong cultural and linguistic diversity. Due to its geographical position, bordering Switzerland and Austria, the Alto Adige part has undergone a strong Germanic influence. This is reflected in the predominantly spoken language, German, and in cultural traditions that recall those of neighbouring countries. In contrast, the province of Trento, further south, shows a marked Italian character, with Italian being the mother tongue of the majority of the population and with typically Italian traditions and customs.
In summary, Trentino-Alto Adige is a mosaic of cultures and languages, where German and Italian coexist and intertwine, creating a unique and fascinating regional identity.

Food and Wine in Trentino-Alto Adige
Trentino-Alto Adige, as one might imagine, is a region rich in culinary and wine traditions.
Here are our top tips for our beloved golfers and travellers:
Canederli Canederli are a typical first course of Trentino cuisine, rich in flavour and energy. They are dumplings made from bread, milk, and eggs, usually flavoured with the addition of speck, ham, cheese, and parsley.
Spätzle Spätzle are small, elongated dumplings with a lumpy texture. They can be white or green depending on whether cheese or spinach is added to the dough.
Cured Beef Carne Salada is a much-loved, lean beef from Trentino, eaten raw as carpaccio or lightly seared. It is a very delicate and pleasant meat, simply delicious as a light summer dish with a bit of rocket, oil, and flaked Grana Padano cheese.
Müller Thurgau Müller Thurgau wine has a characteristic straw-yellow colour with slight green reflections, while its aroma is delicate and very pleasant, with notes reminiscent of grass and nutmeg. It is ideally paired with delicate fish, cheese or vegetable dishes.
Cabernet This widely available red wine from the region is distinguished by its characteristic, spicy aroma, its round, pleasantly tannic, savoury taste which also recalls a slightly spicy note in flavour. Excellent to savour alongside meat dishes, such as roasts and game.
Merlot An important, persistent wine with velvety tannins, its great pleasantness is due to the perfect fusion of ripe fruit aromas and an underlying herbaceous note, which lingers and is enhanced in the long finish. Another perfect pairing for meat dishes with more intense flavours.
