Emilia-Romagna is a region located in the north-eastern part of the country, bordering the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Apennine Mountains to the west.
Its locations are renowned for their excellent hospitality and customer service, and make for a superb tourist destination at any time of year, whether for a relaxing holiday, a tour of Italy, or a golf break.
Let's explore this wonderful region together:
Emilia-Romagna: Curiosities and History
Emilia-Romagna was once divided into two distinct regions, Emilia and Romagna, which have always been linked due to historical events and territorial rule.
Celts and Etruscans settled in the region until it was conquered first by some Celtic tribes and then by the Romans.
Subsequently, Emilia and Romagna were dominated by different authorities, with Emilia under communal authority and Romagna under papal authority, making the region a battlefield for intense wars over time.
Emilia and Romagna were officially unified in 1970, becoming a single state while retaining both names of the original regions.
