Rocco Forte Experience in Italy
We prepared a special itinerary to discover the beauties of Italy in hotels of exceptional prestige, with a relaxing seaside stay in Sicily at the end.
For over a millennium, Florence has been a global icon of beauty. Even its lesser-known neighborhoods are a delight.
The cradle of the Renaissance and the world capital of art in the 15th century, it boasts one of the oldest historical centers and some of the most famous museums in the world, as well as one of the most iconic and distinctive landscapes as far as the eye can see. Everything in Florence is spectacular: from the shops to the streets that lead to the hills overlooking the most touristy areas, from the most authentic and popular neighborhoods just outside the historic center to the monuments that exhibit its soul.
She never hides her years but still wears them well: after all, Rome is the Eternal City.
A walk through the streets of Rome is a stroll through History with a capital H. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it offers and almost demands endless new discoveries, thanks to the enormity of its artistic heritage. As a matter of fact, it is home to two capitals in one city: the Italian capital and the home of the Pope in the Vatican, a place of universal pilgrimage to St Peter's Square.
A dive into Sicily, where a sea of art, culture, and nature will seduce you and become eternal love
Sicily is a predominantly hilly and mountainous area that wins the hearts of tourists from all over the world with its wonderful sea and rich cities with their very own charm. Guided walking tour of Florence and Rest of the day at leisure
Florence is a treasure trove that’s been enclosed by 13th-century walls for centuries. All that remains of the ancient perimeter today are the monumental towers and the two fortresses, San Giovanni Battista to the north and San Giorgio a Belvedere in the Oltrarno area to the south.
Between the lively district of San Lorenzo and the small district of Santa Croce, Florence contains the largest concentration of world-famous art. Just stroll along its historical centre to admire one masterpiece after another: the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. Then there’s the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, the Accademia Gallery and the Basilica of Santa Croce.
Breakfast and transfer to Ugolino Golf Club for the first round of golf.
Afterwards, return transfer to the hotel and Rest of the day at leisure.
The course was designed by an Englishman and an Irishman, Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon. They used the natural contours of the Chianti slopes to produce an outstanding course, threaded through the indigenous vines, olive trees, maritime pines, and broom. The course is not long but demands a high degree of skill. The greens are small and well defended by bunkers. The sloping fairways also present a great challenge.
