Day 4
Nizwa
After breakfast we leave for Nizwa, which was the capital of Oman in the sixth and seventh centuries and whose splendor of the time still lives today. The city was and still is an important commercial, cultural and religious center. Nizwa, renowned for being one of the most important cities of Islamic culture, is home to the famous Round Tower, a fort built in the seventeenth century. With the guided tour you can let yourself be enchanted by the town and its lively Souq where you can admire finely hand-carved silver ornaments and jewels.
Continue in the direction of Jabrin where a visit to one of the most fascinating fortresses in Oman, the Bahla Fort, a World Heritage Site, is scheduled. The fortress is nestled within the ancient village that surrounds it, consisting of fantastic palm trees and buildings of traditional architecture.
On the way back to Muscat, visit the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz located at the bottom of the hills of Jebel Akhdar, where you can enjoy a pleasant walk through its oasis surrounded by dense date plantations.
Return to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
