Lake Maggiore and 5-star golf

The journey begins at the airport Milan Malpensa, where a private transfer will meet you to take you to Stresa through the woods of the Ticino Park — just 45 minutes away and Lake Maggiore opens its arms to you with its Borromean Islands that seem to float on the water.

Upon arrival, the majestic Grand Hotel des Îles Borromées It opens the doors to an experience that has enchanted Ernest Hemingway, queens and Nobel laureates — every corridor tells a story, every room offers a view of the lake. A welcome cocktail on the terrace, followed by a free afternoon to stroll along Stresa’s famous lakeside promenade or enjoy a moment of relaxation in the hotel’s spa.

In the evening, we recommend an aperitif at the magical hour of sunset, when the islands are bathed in golden light and Monte Rosa glows on the horizon. Dinner is at your leisure.

After a breakfast redolent of Italian tradition, we set off for the Golf Club des Îles Borromées — just 15 minutes' drive. 18 holes at 500 metres high, designed in a natural amphitheatre from which the view ranges from the Ticino plain to the Swiss Alps and four pre-Alpine lakes: Maggiore, Varese, Monate and Comabbio. A visual experience even before it is a sporting one.

A light lunch in the clubhouse with views of the greens. Return to the hotel in the early afternoon: SPA, swimming pool or simply a lounger by the lake with a book and a glass of Erbaluce in Caluso Frozen. Free evening.

Breakfast and departure for the Castelconturbia Golf Club (approx. 40 minutes), one of the Italian golf sanctuaries: 27 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. — the same one who designed the Masters courses in the United States — and site of Open d'Italia.

Three routes to choose from: the Yellow, scenic and evocative; the Blue, perfect balance between technical difficulty and scenic beauty; the Red, the longest, the true test for experienced players.

Lunch at the club's clubhouse. Return to Stresa in the late afternoon. For the evening, we suggest dinner in one of the historic restaurants in the centre, where you can taste the Risotto with pearl barley from the lake or Carpione del Maggiore — dishes you can only find here.

A morning dedicated to an authentic experience that will remain among the most beautiful memories of the trip: Private cooking class at the home of a local *Cesarina*. The Cesarine are the guardians of Italian family recipes, passed down through generations. With a certified cook, you will learn to prepare Three traditional Piedmontese recipes, using local produce and fresh ingredients. This will be followed by a tasting of what has been prepared, accompanied by a selection of the finest local wines. Ghemme, Gattinara, Erbaluce.

In the afternoon, Private half-day boat tour discovering the Borromean Islandslanding at’Isola Bella with its Baroque terraced gardens at Palazzo Borromeo and a stroll through the narrow streets of the’Fishermen's Island, a village suspended in time where cats sleep on nets dried in the sun. Return to Stresa. Dinner at your leisure.

Last day of golf at Bogogno Golf Club, designed by Robert von Hagge: two 18-hole par 72 courses that wind their way over rolling hills dominated by the peaks of Monte Rosa. A seemingly gentle par 72, actually challenging, with fairways that draw elegant curves between ancient oaks. Free choice between the two courses — Bonora e del Conte — based on skill level and taste.

Lunch in the clubhouse. Afternoon return to Stresa, with time for a final SPA treatment, a stroll along the lakeside at sunset, or for the last purchases in the historic shops in the centre.

For the evening, at your request we can book a starred dinner in one of the area's gourmet restaurants – a farewell befitting the journey.

Breakfast on the terrace with a last look at the islands. Check-out and private transfer to the airport Milan Malpensa.
